Red Funnel Port

GET INVOLVED

It’s essential we offer a resilient and future-fit service for the Isle of Wight and remain focused on improving resilience and efficiency. These upgrades will transform the port into a gateway the Island deserves, reduce traffic, improve passenger experience, and boost the economy of East Cowes:

Our plans will ensure resilience through a new reserve linkspan and a reserve Red Jet berth.

We will significantly reduce congestion and improve the efficiency of ferry traffic moving around the town, removing the need for long queues on the approaches and exit roads.

We will improve passenger experience by housing new automated check in booths and a dedicated route for disembarking vehicles in the marshalling yard.

The new terminal will provide safe and level access between the terminal and vessels, ensuring passengers can embark and disembark safely and efficiently.

The improvements will allow Red Funnel’s other sites to include a mix of local restaurants, cafés, shops, and residential spaces to generate a lively and attractive area for both tourists and residents in East Cowes, complementing existing offerings in the town and support local economic growth.

The improvements will enhance the overall look of the waterfront, providing an attractive, desirable welcome for visitors and residents alike.
